American Eagle Outfitters has announced plans for a substantial logistics expansion in the Charlotte region, committing $41 million to construct a new distribution center in Salisbury. According to WCNC Charlotte, the facility will serve as a critical hub for the national apparel retailer's supply chain operations, positioning Rowan County as an increasingly important node in the Southeast's logistics network.
The project is expected to generate more than 200 jobs for the local community, ranging from warehouse and fulfillment roles to supervisory and administrative positions. This investment reflects broader trends of major retailers strengthening their distribution infrastructure across the Carolinas, where favorable logistics corridors and workforce availability continue to attract national companies seeking to optimize their supply chains.
The Salisbury distribution center underscores the Piedmont's growing appeal as a logistics and warehousing destination. Located within reasonable proximity to Charlotte's established supply chain ecosystem, the facility positions American Eagle to efficiently serve customers across the Southeast while contributing to regional economic development and employment growth in a sector that has become increasingly vital to North Carolina's economic base.
