EQT Raises Takeover Offer for Perpetual to $1.8B

Swedish private equity firm EQT AB has increased its acquisition bid for Australian investment manager Perpetual Ltd.

According to Bloomberg Markets, EQT AB has elevated its takeover proposal for Perpetual Ltd., an Australian-based investment management firm, to approximately A$2.6 billion, or $1.8 billion in U.S. currency. The increased bid represents an effort by the Swedish private equity giant to strengthen its position in securing the acquisition.

The revised offer underscores EQT's strategic interest in expanding its presence within the asset management sector through the addition of Perpetual's operations and client base. The transaction, if completed, would represent a significant cross-border investment in the Australian financial services industry.
